Invest in the UK's First Purpose-Built Marketplace for Supply Teaching

TeachR is replacing generic job boards in a £521m supply teaching market with a single, transparent platform connecting teachers and agencies. One profile. Every agency. With compliance built in from day one, TeachR is building the infrastructure layer that UK education recruitment has never had — and is raising £250,000 under SEIS to accelerate growth.

THE PROBLEM

A £521m Market Held Together With Spreadsheets

Supply teaching is one of the most structurally inefficient corners of the UK jobs market. For agencies, generic platforms like Indeed and LinkedIn Recruiter were never designed for education compliance — sourcing teachers is expensive, inconsistent, and entirely dependent on keyword luck.

For teachers, the picture is no better: confusing pay structures, unclear postings, and the daily grind of checking multiple boards with no single source of truth. The result is daily wasted time, missed placements, and compliance risk on both sides.

THE SOLUTION

One Profile. Every Agency.

TeachR is the UK's first purpose-built comparison platform for supply teaching. Teachers create a single profile — covering qualifications, DBS status, availability, and preferred roles — that is visible to every agency on the platform. Agencies gain access to a targeted, compliance-ready talent pool they can search, filter, and message directly.

  • Teacher anonymity — teachers control exactly who sees their full details until they choose to connect
  • Free for teachers — zero fees, zero subscriptions; the platform is monetised entirely through agencies
  • Compliance built in — right-to-work and DBS checks embedded on every profile, turning regulatory burden into competitive advantage
  • Agency dashboard — real-time analytics, role management, and direct messaging in a single interface
  • Purpose-built pricing — TeachR at £400–£1,100/month delivers more than LinkedIn Recruiter at £700–£900/seat, at sector-specific depth generic tools cannot match.

MARKET OPPORTUNITY

A £1bn Market With No Clear Digital Leader

The UK education recruitment market represents a £1bn total addressable opportunity, with £521m spent specifically on supply teaching annually. Supply teacher demand is growing at +5% year-on-year — both a tailwind and a validation of the market size. Critically, there is no dominant digital platform in this space.

WHY THIS MATTERS

  • Compliance risk is rising — tightening right-to-work and DBS requirements make compliance tools mandatory, not optional. TeachR's embedded compliance is a structural tailwind.
  • Teacher shortages are structural — supply teacher demand is growing year-on-year; the market is expanding into TeachR's launch.
  • Generic tools are failing agencies — at £700–£900/seat/month, LinkedIn Recruiter delivers a generic, non-compliant open market. TeachR delivers more value at comparable cost, built for education.
  • First-mover advantage is available — no platform currently serves this market with TeachR's compliance depth. The window to establish the category-defining position is now.

EXIT & ACQUIRERS

Multiple credible exit routes exist within a 4–5 year horizon. Large recruitment groups (Hays, Reed, Randstad) and ed-tech platforms (Arbor, IRIS, Wonde) are natural strategic acquirers. Precedent: Tes acquired Eteach for £25m.

On Year 3 gross revenue of £1.1m, a 3–4x SaaS-marketplace multiple implies a conservative floor of £3m–£4m at Year 3, scaling to a target exit range of £15m–£25m at Years 4–5. Education recruitment is also an active PE consolidation target.

NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OPPORTUNITY

We’re Looking for the Right NED to Help Us Scale.

We're looking for  Non-Executive Directors/ Advisors who brings one of two things - either deep experience scaling a two-sided labour or services marketplace from early stage through to Series B and beyond, or senior credibility within the UK education staffing sector as a former CEO, MD or COO of a recognised education recruitment agency or multi-academy trust. In both cases, the value is as much about the network as the advice, we need someone who can open doors with marketplace investors, warm-introduce us to agencies, and be on hand to pressure-test our thinking before key conversations

What we’re looking for:

  • [ Experience / background area 1 ] — e.g. senior experience in SaaS, edtech, or recruitment technology
  • [ Experience / background area 2 ] — e.g. a network of investors, agency relationships, or education sector contacts
  • [ Experience / background area 3 ] — e.g. experience scaling a marketplace or two-sided platform

What we offer in return:

  • A genuine seat at the table and direct influence over strategy as we scale
  • The opportunity to be part of building the category-defining platform in UK education recruitment
