Role 1314

Every Journey – Smarter

Our client, PassageWay, offers a SaaS platform for the creation, management and delivery of real-time passenger information (RTPI) digital signs.

 passage1

Led by experienced digital entrepreneur Chris Johns, the PassageWay team works with Transport for London and other transport authorities and currently has over 300 digital signs live across London.

PassageWayapplies the tenets of Nudge Theory by subtly guiding people's choices to encourage beneficial decisions.

Passageway provides the relevant, real-time information to people and  communities encouraging them to make choices that benefitthemselves and the wider community. Choices include taking public transport rather than a car and  modifying their journey due to disruption information or onward travel status.

PassageWay has identified a significant opportunity in aggregating together ALL forms of transport to present a traveller with the smartest sustainable transport options to complete their journey:

Public Transport + Taxi (Uber and local) + Bike Share + Car Share + Ride Share + E- Scooters and when they come, autonomous vehicles too!

McKinsey & Co predict in their 2023 report ‘The Future Of Mobility’ predict that ownership of private cars will reduce by 16% by 2035, with demand shifted to public transport and smart mobility options such as e-bikes, e-scooters, ride share, EV taxis and emergent modes.

Smart Mobility operators are characterised by requiring customers to download their App (or MaaS App) to find and book services. Because of this they miss out on demand simply because most people are unaware they exist.

PassageWay wants to address this challenge by introducing real-time passenger information digital signs displaying both smart mobility and public transport live, and locally available. Customers will scan a QR code on the digital sign to open a mobile friendly version with associated trackable booking links.

Passageway propose to earn revenue from smart mobility operators via their affiliate schemes.

Rewarding Hosts

They will reward hosts for displaying the signs with 10% of the affiliate revenue generated.

Channels To Market

Passageway will work with hosts (hospitals, organisations, hospitality/event venues etc)| to distribute the information free of charge on their screens

We will work with the organisers of major events (20K plus attendees) to help promote sustainable transport, displaying signs via their screens and on our own pop-up double-sided, battery powered digital totems embedded on e-cargo bikes.

Pilots

PassageWay is looking for Investing NED’s to support this next step in our journey. Not only will their funding support the necessary development for pilots in London, but their experience and networks will help generate introductions and drive growth.  Once proven in London, we plan to launch in major UK cities prior to an international roll-out by year 3.

Non Executive Directors

PassageWay is raising £225,000 in exchange for 10% equity to undertake the development and pilots. We are keen to engage investing Non-Executive Directors with the following skills and experience:

  • Stadium and Major Event Customer Experience Management
  • Digital Out Of Home market expansion
  • Financial management for international expansion
  • Public Transport and/or Smart Mobility executive leadership

Expected Return

We are a small yet profitable award-winning business with existing clients including Transport for London. We forecast by year 5 post investment, a £9.5 million turnover with net profit margin of circa 50% delivering a conservative valuation (6x profit) of £30 million+
