Three Cs

Our client, Three Cs is a person-centred, inclusive charitable organisation for people with learning disabilities, autism, and/or mental health challenges. They are seeking to appoint up to three trustee roles to the Board of Three Cs as the current trustees have or will complete their tenures in recent months. The Charity is keen to further improve the diversity of the Board and welcome applications from individuals of diverse heritage (BAME), LGBTQ+, social and educational backgrounds etc.

Three Cs Mission

Three Cs stands for ‘Control and Choice in the Community’ for people with learning disabilities, autism and/or mental health challenges. We support people to have control over and choice about their lives and to contribute to the community as equal citizens.

Three Cs Model

''We provide support for living in Lewisham, Southwark, Greenwich, Newham, Redbridge and Hackney. We do this through Community Support, Supported Living, and Social Inclusion and Day Services. We deliver services commissioned by local authorities or Clinical Commissioning Groups, or bought directly by individuals with a personal budget, through direct payments or funded personally. Our approach is influenced by the social model of disability and the recovery model of mental health.''

Three Cs Values

''We expect staff, volunteers and Trustees to be HAPPI in their work for Three Cs. That means: Happy, Accountable, Professional, Person Centred, Inclusive.''

Experience and skills

  • Lead in Business Acumen & Risk Management: business acumen (this includes oversight of audits, key performance indicators, opportunity and risk identification). It is not essential to have experience in our sector. We are looking for someone who understands how organisations operate and how a business is run e.g. income generation, managing costs, strategic planning and achieving organisational objectives. An understanding of business growth and income diversification would be welcome.
  • Lead in Safeguarding: experience in and/or solid understanding of safeguarding in a social care or other setting. Knowledge of what the law, best practice and regulations require and advice in particular with safeguarding vulnerable adults is an advantage.
  • Lead in Marketing and Communications: experience of marketing and communications to reach diverse audiences through multi-channel approaches including social media, advocacy or fundraising campaigns (e.g. major donors, legacy, sponsorship). Ideally with experience in the charity sector. We are looking for someone who can support Three Cs to turn up the volume of our digital voice especially on matters that are really important to us.

The Charity is pleased to consider applications from individuals (age 18+) who are students/early careers, regardless of the skills match to the areas listed above.
