An additional Non-Executive Director (Non-Exec) is desired for our AIM-listed client ANGLE plc which is a world-leading liquid biopsy company with pioneering products in cancer diagnostics. Its Parsortix™ cell separation system has the potential to deliver profound improvements in clinical and health economic outcomes in the diagnosis and treatment of various forms of cancer. They are based in Surrey.
We are seeking candidates who have been a C-Suite Director from the medical diagnostics sector or who have leading commercial experience in the healthcare sector.
Remuneration is c.£25k pa for 1 to 2 days per month (formal & informal time) for Board & Sub Committee Meetings.
Business Concept:
- ANGLE plc is a world-leading liquid biopsy company with pioneering products in cancer diagnostics.
- ANGLE’s lead product is the Parsortix™ cell separation system, which can capture and harvest very rare cells from blood. This includes circulating tumour cells (CTCs) in cancer patient blood – even when there is less than one CTC in one billion healthy cells. The resulting liquid biopsy (simple blood test) enables the investigation of mutations in the patient’s cancer for personalized cancer care.
- ANGLE has launched a product for the research market and has secured CE Mark regulatory approval for the clinical market in Europe.
- ANGLE has large scale clinical and analytical studies under way which are due to complete by calendar year end in pursuit of FDA clearance for its Parsortix system. This would be the first ever FDA cleared product for harvesting cancer cells from blood for subsequent analysis.
- Undertake larger patient studies providing fully documented evidence of how the system should be used for particular patient applications in routine treatment, the first of which is in ovarian cancer with products in breast and prostate cancer following.
- Convert key opinion leader support and peer reviewed publications into widespread adoption of the Parsortix™ system in routine patient care
- ANGLE have recently raised £12.7m in a public fund raise.
Non-Exec Requirements/Criteria:
Specific requirements are:
- Medical diagnostics experience.
- Previously a C-Suite Director of a listed company from the Biotechnology & Medical Research industries, ideally with cancer knowledge.
- Experience of working in the UK & internationally.
- Experience of regulatory clearance.
- Experience of commercialising an IVD product – go to market strategy & product launch, payor coverage, medical education, guidelines etc.
- Experience of partnership & licensing deals.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience of being a Non-Executive Director.
- Strategic and commercial expertise.
- Sufficient time availability to commit up to 2 days per month.
Remuneration is £25-30k pa for 2 days per month (formal & informal time) for Board & Sub Committee Meetings plus strategy days and preparation time.
Board meetings are held monthly in Surrey, plus two subcommittee meetings including Audit, Remuneration and Nomination.
The Non-Exec will also sit on the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Subcommittees.
